Riley Pitman

By Gary Sadler AKC Executive Field Representative

Riley Pitman, a fifteen year old young man from North Chatham, New Hampshire has had a very good start in field trialing with his young Brittany, Riley's Magnum Winchester. Riley ran Chester in Derby during the fall of 2007, placing second in Open Derby at the Central Maine Brittany field trial. Riley has spent the rest of the fall working on his education at Fryeburg Academy were he is on the wrestling team.

Riley's family runs a diary farm where I am sure he is a big help. Aside from enjoying school Riley says he likes to hunt and fish. One thing's for sure he must enjoy Chester because in the spring trial season Chester has placed in three other trials taking third in Open Derby at the Eastern New England Brittany Club trial. At the Southern New England Brittany trial Chester took third in Amateur Derby. This Teamwork must be maturing as they next placed first in Open and Amateur Derby at the Central New England Brittany Club trial. Then proving their worth again by taking both of the blue ribbons in Derby at Northern New England Brittany Club's spring trial.

Riley was born into a home with a Brittany and there has been one throughout Riley's life. Chester came into the Pitman family from Ray Gorman a long time Brittany enthusiast. Riley's Mom says that Riley and Chester are together all the time.

Thanks to all who encourage young people like Riley; they are our future.
